In 2015 we welcomed 48 young people from 8 local Nottingham schools to our second Fuse Community Arts Festival. Artists included Edward Boott from Nonsuch Theatre, Guy Jenkins from Allergic Films, Ballestics instructor Jamie Thomson, photographer Samuel Kirby and musician Josh Kemp.

2015 saw groups take trips to the Arboretum and Hyson Green for urban and nature photography, devise scripts about cabbages, and film scary horror shorts with interesting props…

On Monday 15 June we were treated to a wonderful photography exhibition by the Notts Photo Crew titled In Yur Face, two short horror films by nine young filmmakers: Merlot – Her Favourite and Faith. There was an inspiring short play called Difference which explored cultural identity within the family, and two musical performances including a new song Remember by all 10 musicians.

It was a fantastic evening full of talent, humour, and confidence; the young people really flourished in their art forms and showed great support for one another. Well done everyone!

A huge thank you to all the artists that designed and delivered their sessions throughout the festival, and a huge special thank you to Miss Louise Dee at Bluecoat Beechdale Academy who continued to support her students.
